👋🏽 Welcome to the Knowledge hub for malaria genetic epidemiology! Dive into GenRe-Mekong’s resources on data training workshops, forums, research papers, and more.
Training Workshop
We share knowledge and provide trainings to expand in-country expertise, developing local capacity to evaluate drug resistance data and other genetic epidemiological outputs.
Data Analysis and Genetic Epidemiology Mapping
Workshop objectives:
- Understand the information on Genetic Report Cards (GRC) and apply this to support informed public health decision making
- Develop proficiency in analysing GRC spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel
- Learn to create epidemiological maps with the R
grcMalaria
software, including drug resistance prevalence, mutation prevalence, and tracking of resistant strains. - Foster collaboration and strengthen relationships among collaborators in the Greater Mekong Subregion.
Scientific Forum
The annual GenRe-Mekong Scientific Forum serves as a platform that facilitates collaboration and exchange of knowledge between National Malaria Control Programmes and scientific partners, all working collectively towards the goal of malaria elimination.
2023
📺 From Samples to Actionable Knowledge for Malaria Elimination: Advancing Genetic Surveillance in the Greater Mekong Subregion and Beyond (20 November 2023)
Theme:
- Updates on regional drug resistance prevalence
- Advances in genetic surveillance analysis techniques
- Development of other usecases relevant to pre-elimination settings
- Sharing experiences between different malaria-endemic countries
